The Shieldin complex, composed of REV7, SHLD1, SHLD2, and SHLD3, protects DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) to promote nonhomologous end joining. The AAA + ATPase TRIP13 remodels Shieldin to regulate DNA repair pathway choice.
