Also catalyzes the hydrolysis of toxic organophosphorus cholinesterase-inhibiting compounds including insecticide paraoxon and nerve gases such as diisopropylfluorophosphate (DFP), O-isopropyl methylphosphonofluoridate (sarin), O-pinacolyl methylphosphonofluoridate (soman), and O-cyclohexyl methylphosphonofluoridate.
