UniProtKB description:  Chaperone of the type III secretion system (T3SS), also called injectisome, which is used to inject bacterial effector proteins into eukaryotic host cells (PubMed:18281060, PubMed:29458689). Along with YscG, prevents premature polymerization of the YscF/SctF needle protein within the cytoplasm (By similarity). Is also required for stable expression of cytosolic YscF and for YscF secretion (PubMed:29458689). Likely plays a role in targeting YscF present in the cytosolic YscEFG complex to the T3SS apparatus (PubMed:29458689). Required for Yop secretion (PubMed:11035761).
