UniProtKB description:  Component of a light-harvesting complex (LHC) (PubMed:36792917). The LHC functions as a light receptor, it captures and delivers excitation energy to photosystems with which it is closely associated (PubMed:36792917). Functions in a far-red LHC by absorbing far-red light and promoting photosystem II (PSII) excitation, likely with entropy-driven uphill excitation energy transfer (PubMed:36792917). Exhibits a typical absorption band at 671 nm (Qy band), as well as a large far-red absorption band at 706.5 together with fluorescence emission at around 713 nm (F713) (PubMed:36792917).
