UniProtKB description:  L-fucose dehydrogenase involved in an L-fucose degradation pathway (Ref.1). Catalyzes the oxidation of L-fucose to L-fucono-1,5-lactone (Ref.1). Can also act on D-arabinose, with lower catalytic efficiency, and has weak activity with L-galactose and 4-deoxy-L-fucose (PubMed:23214453). Shows a preference for NADP(+) over NAD(+) (Ref.1).
