UniProtKB description:  Alpha-conotoxins bind to the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR) and inhibit them. This toxin inhibits mammalian alpha-3-beta-2/CHRNA3-CHRNB2 nAChR (IC(50)=9.4 nM (rat), IC(50)=8.8 nM (human)), as well as the subunit chimera alpha-6/alpha-3-beta-2-beta-3 nAChR (CHRNA6/CHRNA3-CHRNB2-CHRNB3)(IC(50)=2.1 nM (rat), IC(50)=1.7 nM (human)). Binds to rat alpha-6/alpha-3-beta-2-beta-3 more rapidly than to alpha-3-beta-2, and dissociates more rapidly from alpha-3-beta-2 than from alpha-6/alpha-3-beta-2-beta-3.
