Nitroxoline is a urinary antibacterial agent active against susceptible gram-positive and gram-negative organisms commonly found in urinary tract infections. It is a hydroxyquinoline derivative unrelated to other classes of drugs.[A179251] Nitroxoline is active against bacterial gyrases.
