It is found in both the cytoplasm and in the mitochondrial intermembrane space (IMS) [4]. Anamorsin is found to be up-regulated in hepatocellular cancer, is considered to be a downstream effector of the receptor tyrosine kinase-Ras signalling pathway, and is essential in mouse definitive haematopoiesis [5]. In addition, it mediates the anti-apoptotic effects of various cytokines [6]. This entry represents the N-terminal domain, which has a S-adenosylmethionine methyltransferase-like fold.
