UniProtKB description:  Converts the circular intermediates produced by the viral replication and carrying a joined telomere site to a linear DNA molecule with covalently closed hairpin ends (PubMed:14996813). The viral circular DNA is cleaved at a palindromic site called telRL thereby generating a linear prophage plasmid with telomeres (PubMed:14996813). Binds covalently to the 3'-phosphoryl of the cleaved strands (By similarity).
