UniProtKB description:  Bifunctional zinc metalloenzyme that comprises both epoxide hydrolase (EH) and aminopeptidase activities (PubMed:8706657, PubMed:9744798, PubMed:24333438). Acts as an epoxide hydrolase to catalyze the conversion of leukotriene A4 (LTA4) to the pro-inflammatory mediator leukotriene B4 (LTB4) (PubMed:8706657, PubMed:9744798, PubMed:24333438). During the conversion of LTA4 to LTB4, a second product is formed, the isomeric delta6-trans-delta8-cis-LTB4 (5S,12R-dihydroxy-6,10-trans-8,14-cis-eicosatetraenoic acid), with a relative formation of 10% delta6-trans-delta8-cis-LTB4 compared to 90% LTB4 (PubMed:8706657, PubMed:9744798). The production of delta6-trans-delta8-cis-LTB4 seems to dependend on the phenylalanine residue at position 375 (PubMed:8706657, PubMed:9744798). Has also aminopeptidase activity (PubMed:24333438).
