UniProtKB description:  Chaperone of the type III secretion system (T3SS), also called injectisome, which is used to inject bacterial effector proteins into eukaryotic host cells, facilitating the establishment and dissemination of infection. Along with PscE, prevents premature polymerization of the PscF/SctF needle protein within the cytoplasm (PubMed:20494986). Required for type III secretion needle assembly. Also required for cytotoxicity by influencing PscF/SctF levels.
