BSD2 is a chloroplast chaperone required for RuBisCo biogenesis and translational regulation of the RuBisCo large subunit [1]. It has a role in stabilizing an end-state assembly intermediate of eight RuBisCo large subunits until the small subunits become available. The structure of this domain has been determined and it has a hairpin architecture arranged around two Zn atoms, each coordinated by four cysteines [1]. Members with this domain contain a highly conserved CxxCxGxG sequence motif.
