Number of Models

Some entries in the Protein Data Bank contain an ensemble of structures which are consistent with the raw data from the structure determination experiments. This situation is most common in structures determined by NMR spectroscopy. A MODEL record identifies each set of coordinates in the PDB file. This search allows querying the PDB by the number of models in the file.

Select the appropriate choice from the left hand menu ("=", ">", "<", "!=") and enter an integer number in the text box.

Examples:

  1. Select "!=" (not equal) or ">" (greater than) from the pull down menu, and enter 1 in the text box. This will return all structures that contain more than 1 model, and hence exclude NMR entries with minimized average structures.
  2. Select ">" from the pull down menu and enter 100 in the text box. This will return all structures that contain more than 100 ensembles.
