Shown are Tk MAT, Ss MAT (PDB-ID 4HPV), Ec MAT (PDB-ID 1RG9) and Hs MAT (PDB-ID 2P02).
Diffraction data was collected to a maximum resolution of 2.0 Å, and the structure was solved by a combination of SAD using a SeMet derivative of Tk MAT and molecular replacement using the Ss MAT structure (PDB-ID 4HPV) as a search model.
However, in the corresponding open structure from S. solfataricus (PDB-ID 4HPV), another thermophilic organism, the loop is not defined.
Ss MAT (PDB-ID 4HPV) was used as replacement model.
More recently, a crystal structure of Ss MAT has become available in the PDB database (PDB-IDs 4HPV, 4K0B), but no associated data has as yet been published.
