Thus our docked Plk1 complexes closely resemble the known phosphopeptide bound Plk1 crystal structures (IQ4K, 3P37, 3P2Z and 4E9D) in terms of their binding pattern.

Methods and Materials Selection of Plk1-PBD-ligand complex structures from the protein data bank To generate structure-based Plk1-PBD pharmacophore models, we selected nine crystal structures, namely,... 1Q4K  , 1UMW  , 3FVH  , 3HIK  , 3P34  , 3P37  , 4E9C  , 4E9D  , and 4HAB  , based on their level of resolution and deposition date in the protein data bank (PDB, www.rcsb.org/pdb ).
To do this, we first selected nine different Plk1-PBD X-ray crystal structures (1Q4K  , 1UMW  , 3FVH  , 3HIK  , 3P34  , 3P37  , 4E9C  , 4E9D  and 4HAB  ) from PDB as inputs for structure-based pharmacophore generation.
